Jennifer Manthey renders with remarkable clarity the ways white supremacy inspheres even the most tender interactions. I am stunned by these poems. Love, fierce and fraught, is the pulse coursing through each precisely crafted line and striking image in this collection, which is alive with rigorous introspection, relational urgency, and a moral heart.
